First Friday Weekend Art Walk

On Friday and Saturday, December 7th and 8th, along with the first weekend of each month thereafter, St. Augustine's Ponte Vedra and the Beaches Florida comes alive with music and art exhibits during the First Friday Weekend Art Walk on the first Friday and Saturday of every month from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Enjoy the latest exhibits, music, entertainment and refreshments at over 20 participating galleries. Tours begin at Rembrandtz Fine Gifts for Fun People, 131 King Street. St. Augustine Sightseeing Trains and Old Town Trolleys offer attendees a complimentary shuttle service to most of the galleries. Shuttles run on a continuous loop every 30 minutes.

What interests me most about the St. Augustine Artwalk--besides enjoying the fabulous Florida weather is the enticing array of artwork by Peter O'Neill.
An original oil by O'Neill was sold at auction for the sum of $20,000.00 on October 10th, 2001. One hundred percent of the proceeds from the sale of the original was donated to the New York City Fireman and Emergency Service Relief Fund.

Donated to date are 14,000 lithographs of the "Two Minutes of Silence" to Fire Departments, Police Departments and Emergency Service Stations. It is O'Neill's intention to donate, with the support of the public, to every station in the country.

I would like to obtain one of the lithographs for the firemen in my city.

The Original oil now hangs in the Fire Fighters Museum in New York City.
In September of 2002, the image was chosen for the cover of the FDNY and City of New York memorial held at Madison Square Garden.
