Dear God We Need Your Help

Dear God:

We need help.

I cannot believe that we as a nation of rational, thinking belivers still think that any type of gun control or regulation will turn the tide of violence that has engulfed our nation. I cannot believe we do not believe in you. I cannot believe that we will not pray together.

The Devil is kicking our asses. Satan is beating us like a pimp beats a hooker.  Lucifer, the father of all lies, is tricking us into killing ourselves and we still won’t turn to God and pray. Instead we dry our tears pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and walk right back into Satan’s hateful arms, ready for another beating.

I don’t get it.

Plenty of people here in America and on this earth have some rememberence of their religious upbringing and understand what SPIRITUAL WAREFARE IS ABOUT.  Those people need to step up and start talking about what they know--outside of church. In short, we all need to actually do what the Pastors and the Reverends and the Fathers have been telling us to do each Sunday. We have to do what Jesus said to do 2000 years ago. We must obey God, as our knees are bent and our tongues are confessing on every airwave, "God help us".

A cry to God is what I hear, in essence, coming from every news reader. It is what every reporter is reporting.

There are plenty of people who work in the mental health arena and understand what is broken with our system and what works. We need to start a conversation with those people and listen to what they say and then do what they say.

We cannot be a nation of rational beings and continue on this way. We are our brother's keeper, our sister's keeper whether we want to be or not. If we are not then we are neglectful in our duties. How can we count ourselves amongst the civilized groups of people we yearn to belong to and be socially accepted by but literally be civically neglectful? It won't work. It defies logic.

When we pray, en masse, God hears us. He said if the people who are called by my name would turn from their sin and pray, He will hear us and help us God will heal us if we ask, in other words.

We are a world of children - spiritual children - and it is due time we grew up. It is not just the politician who needs to do something. We the people need to do something as well. If we allow 20 angels to be murdered and do nothing, God help us all as we are spiritually dead. The spiritually dead are zombies.

Our belief in God has nothing to do with His existence. Our refusal to obey God has nothing to do with the strength of His Law or Rule. Like an impudent child, we will be chastised as an unchastised child is unloved. We are loved but hardheaded. We refuse to listen, to act in accordance to His Word or to wake up. We buy pins and buttons, we protest and march but we won't pray, seemingly.

The children are dead. They are the latest in a long, long list of martyrs who still cry out to God, “how long?”

Report what you see and hear. Help a family struggling with a mentally ill relative. Politicians need to on Monday, begin to unravel the red tape mess that is our mental health system. Disabled people and their families need and deserve our full attention.

Understand that a gun is not the problem. Guns would go unused and litter the streets like plastic grocery bags if no one used them. Even if every person in America each owned three guns, if they went unused, unloaded they would be meaningless.

People are the problem. People who buy and use guns for violence are the problem. Let us be our own keepers of self and help ourselves by attending to the people who buy and use guns for violence. Be damned the economy of the gun industry. Let's save some lives.

What A Night! OFA Election Night Victory Celebration @ McCormick Place Lakeside Center November 6 2012

My ninth grade son just informed me that it is improper to refer to the President as the "44th & 45th" as he is the same person holding a second term as the 44th President. Please forgive my misinformation. However, I won't change it. My son wants to become a surgeon. Will I listen to him when he gives me medical advice or will I be stubborn, incorrigible mommy?
More pics and vid to come.

Obama most photographed president

I read somewhere that President Obama is the most photographed president. I concur! BTW I had to hang off of the riser to get the HD vid and pulled snapshots from the vid in Movie Maker. The Big Boys had the top slots, so I crawled into a corner of the riser and wedged my elbow into a part of it and hung on! I know I looked weird but I got some good stills so it's par for the course. —Leslie

Statement by the President of the United States: On the planet Mars, the United States of America made history

The successful landing of Curiosity – the most sophisticated roving laboratory ever to land on another planet – marks an unprecedented feat of technology that will stand as a point of national pride far into the future. It proves that even the longest of odds are no match for our unique blend of ingenuity and determination.

Tonight's success, delivered by NASA, parallels our major steps forward towards a vision for a new partnership with American companies to send American astronauts into space on American spacecraft. That partnership will save taxpayer dollars while allowing NASA to do what it has always done best – push the very boundaries of human knowledge. And tonight’s success reminds us that our preeminence – not just in space, but here on Earth – depends on continuing to invest wisely in the innovation, technology, and basic research that has always made our economy the envy of the world.

I congratulate and thank all the men and women of NASA who made this remarkable accomplishment a reality – and I eagerly await what Curiosity has yet to discover.

President Obama Speaks at the National Urban League Convention

Pres. Obama Cares About Middle Class Tax Cuts

President Obama called on Congress to extend the middle class tax cuts for the 98 percent of Americans making less than $250,000 for another year.

"With the Senate’s vote, the House Republicans are now the only people left in Washington holding hostage the middle-class tax cuts for 98% of Americans and nearly every small business owner.  The last thing a typical middle class family can afford is a $2,200 tax hike at the beginning of next year.  It’s time for House Republicans to drop their demand for another $1 trillion giveaway to the wealthiest Americans and give our families and small businesses the financial security and certainty that they need.  Our economy isn’t built from the top-down, it’s built from a strong and growing middle class, and that’s who we should be fighting for."

Obamas at Home

The first family joined Senior Adviser Valerie Jarrett in celebrating her daughter's wedding. B-roll shows the family strolling toward the wedding ceremony held at Jarrett's home, a block away from the Obamas. The president is seen in an oatmeal-hued suit, gold patterned tie. President Obama will leave the city Sunday en route for the G-20 in Mexico.

Presidential Chicago--What Photoshop can't fix

Many photos are edited using photo editing software however there are somethings Photoshop cannot fix. Software cannot make me a better photographer nor the President appear to have his eyes open after the image has been snapped with them shut. Woe is me--it was just a blink! Sorry Mr. President!

The video looks nice though. I will post that later today.
The President was in Chicago Friday and Saturday for campaign events. Press took stills and video at departure and arrival. I took this photo at departure. Thanks SS and Karen Pride!
It was a gorgeous day Saturday and that plane looks fabulous in person. Go USA.

The president while in Chicago, got to stay in his own home and kick around, according to pool reports. It's my opinion that we should enjoy every good day we have and forget the bad. Saturday was a good day.

On the Cusp (Listen to the President's Words)

It is in my humble opinion that we as Americans are on the cusp of a new civilization--a new way of thinking. There are those of us Americans who are struggling financially and there are those who do well, still.  Regular, everyday people generally have hope for a better tomorrow--whether or not they have financial wealth because we all want the best, better and more. We strive in some way.

Our election process has devolved into a very severe family fight--which are almost always based in issues of control and power. The people with the least amount of power in the group or family are the ones most at risk.

Keep that in mind in November when you vote. Use the power you have to your advantage. Vote for the candidate who is most like you, not like who you want to become or to whom you would most like to identify. The 99 percent are the most of us, not the richest of us.

Think about it: If you vote for the person you wish to become, financially speaking, then those constructs when in place work for those who are ALREADY in position financially and the road is shut to those who are not already a part of it as it does not interest them and their goals. If you vote for the person in which you are most like now, those constructs when in place will be made for you to walk that path and achieve your financial goals. Your team wins.

Obama meets us where we are already. We need legislative help with mortgages, credit card debt, student loans, bank loans, business loans, managing children going to college or are in high school, health care and insurance, wages and taxes. I have been helped by President Obama's legislation. He understands where I am in my path as he has walked a similar path.

I won't even get into (in this post) how blacks and the Afro-centric point of view are sidelined from the national conversation but it is a new day and a new way of thinking about this country and who we want to lead it. I know since Obama was elected, I have changed the way I think about this country and its people and how we do things. It has not escaped notice how the President and his administrators are viewed through the eyes of the conservative media however the People see him in a different light.

We know Obama works for us. We all know that President Obama comes from humble beginnings--just like most of us. He wasn't born with a silver spoon in his mouth but quite the opposite. He was born in Hawaii, raised in Indonesia and grew up in several states in this country: Hawaii, New York, California and Chicago--just like a military kid.

I get all of this from his two books and from listening to the president for the past four years. Obama was raised by his grandparents  (like Bill Clinton's grandparents raised our former president.) Obama's grandfather was retired from the military and a salesman--skills not lost on his grandson. His grandma was mama--so to speak. Look at how our President was raised: Obama's mother worked and educated herself and left this world way too early. His dad died early too. That hurts. He was orphaned early in life. His grandma died before she could see him elected. That hurts. But still, Obama works hard everyday for the People. His people--if they still walked this earth--would be so proud of him.

Don't you know he has his up days and his down days? (Think of how many times you wanted to avoid doing something, getting out of bed or leaving the house because you just had not figured it out yet? Ha!) Do you not understand that sometimes Obama is deeply hurt by some of the people's comments spewed his way? What of the blame aimed at him? Being the astute politician--his profession like most of us have a profession--he never gets over emotional because he is our leader and it is his responsibility to lead with logic and thought.

Obama is like us and he is the truest reflection of America we have ever had in the office of president.
Many of us had no idea how the voices from the Right would be so cruel and inhumane to a fellow American. My only sports analogy is likened to when baseball teams trade places, one at bat and one in the field--as that is the way the game is played--only that the Right refuse to go to the field but want to continue to bat. The game can only end in a fight.

Obama is blended as we are blended. Obama is the American Idea perfected. All he asks of us as people is to stand up for ourselves and strive to be our better selves everyday (play fair) and it is very difficult to do so at times. It's hard enough taking a beating let alone taking one for the team and then getting up and going through that process every day, throughout the day.

Of the Right, Mr. Romney offers his services to Big Business--standard practice as all Republicans do. They have even said that they are "holding their money to the side" until President Obama is out of office. Why? Any elected president only gets two terms so would it be so bad to share and get along like business as usual? We are not a country divided really but only have different paths to get to the same point. That is where the family analogy fits. We are a group with common ideas and goals--American.

Promote the wholeness of our country and vote for yourself in November. Sports analogy: All of the baseball teams belong to a league of ball teams governed by team rules with the goal to see which team is best through competition. Sometimes there are fights but mostly good sportsmanship prevails.

President Obama croons Al Green, crowd swoons!

Crooning and Swooning at its best.
