Free vs Plantation: Happy Birthday MLKJr. and I'm sorry I failed you.

I am free when I think for myself and rebuild my house on firm ground so that I don't have to sharecrop no more or take from massa's table or starve.

I am free when massa asks me when I'm going to get me some nobodies like he got so that I can be like him. (that means he no longer thinks of me as a nobody)
When I am free I can think how I like and vote the way I want.

When I am on a plantation, my basic needs are provided to me in exchange for constant abuse at the hands of cruel massa. I cannot go against massa or he will take the things I need away from me or kill me by lynching--like he did to those other nobodies that set his house on fire last week. Or he will break up my family or rape me or throw me or my nobody in jail. Sometimes being a nobody is like being a prisoner.

Even if massa was nice to me and said I could do as I please as long as I wasn't steppin' on his toes or standin' too close, I still would do as he say because I am loyal to massa and I tell on the other nobodies on the plantation when they try to escape or read or think for themselves or run for president.

Massa will always be in charge of me because I am a happy-go-lucky nobody. As long as I'm doing better than the next nobody--massa will always be my man! Gimmie five Jay-Jay and make me some coolaid and dance!

I am a nobody and I live on massa's plantation and I will raise my kids on massa's plantation and die on massa's plantation and will kill any nobody that tries to mess with massa or his ways.

Massa and his people live on the plantation too but its different because they seem to stick together and get along and think like one person. I can't break into that group--they just looks at me and shakes their head when I walk past their shack. Some of them feel sorry for me because I am a nobody and I ain't got a chance. Then the menfolk makes them go inside--they ain't really free either but theys better off than me.

I am a nobody and I depend on massa and his plantation--even though it is killing me a little bit everyday. So if a black man were to run for president one day, I wouldn't vote for him because I am a nobody and I can't make a fist.

Cast Your Vote Wisely, Vote for the Future: Barack Obama

I sense fear in some as the poor and workers of all kinds come out in droves to vote. These groups have been ignored for so long and now finally they get a chance to be heard. They had better speak loud and clear because the chance to be heard may not come around again.
Besides the U.S. Constitution, who do we people have to thank for this chance to be heard--Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barak Obama (D-IL). He is the one to thank.
Please do not misunderstand--whatever he does, others in the campaign do as well. He is leading them as he will do the country when he is nominated by his party and then wins the presidential election against whatever Republican he runs against.

Cast Your Vote Wisely, Vote for the Future: Barack Obama

Prosecutorial Misconduct

Prosecutorial misconduct is not a myth. Please read the following statement and ask yourself how can we function as a country if this is allowed to go on...
"Anyway, judges are not immune from societal pressures. Judges would like to be appointed to higher courts; they would like to be appointed as CIA or FBI director; they would like to continue their friendships with the persons who appointed them as judges in the first place. Also, most importantly, they want to have a family life, something which they could never have if they did not dismiss most cases assigned to them."

I believe the following statemnt is true. And it is sad--a sad statement of what this country has become. I would hate to think it has always been this way and we have actually improved...

"It's something similar to reading a judge's decision for anyone except the involved parties and their attorneys. Almost every decision is written in a way to convince persons unfamiliar with the case that the decision is a just one. Accordingly, when a judge says something such as "there is absolutely no evidence at all in favor of the plaintiff", a person not familiar with the affidavits, testimony, exhibits and other documents in the case would probably assume that the decision is accurate, and not realize that the decision is using the language required to be used to dismiss a case."

Consumers Creditnet

I want to rebuild credit and to do so I plan on contacting Consumers Creditnet.
Creditnet is an online marketplace where consumers connect with a wide array of credit card products and services. They help you find credit cards or services which best match your criteria and credit standing.
According to them, their web site also acts as an industry filter, sheltering you from those predatory products and services which plague the subprime market and jeopardize the integrity of valid offers.
While other web sites feel that quantity is key, Creditnet believes in the power of selection. They say that they refuse to market products which prey, mislead, deceive or take advantage of consumers deliberately.

IGS Energy

In the mail I recieved anotice asking me to lock in a fixed rate today on my natural gas. it said my gas utility company offers a program that allows me to control my natural gas costs by choosing them as a supplier.
It also said would get a discount from October of next year until.
What about electric? Is there a carrier that can give me a discount on my electric energy? The gas is never that much but the electic is.

Welcome to the Rodeo--Yeeha!

If I could score National Rodeo Finals tickets I would really be going just to see the bare back riding competition because it seems much more exciting.
The National Finals Rodeo, organized by the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association, is the top-of-the-top in championship rodeo events in the U.S. Wrangler Jeans is the title sponsor.
The National Finals is held for 10 days each year in the first full week of December, at the Thomas & Mack Center on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) in Las Vegas, Nevada.

An interesting fact is that he rodeo uses special dirt, which is stored on the UNLV campus for use in next NFR.

Another interesting fact is that because of the large amount of money awarded during the NFR, the leader in an event going into the NFR is frequently dethroned at its end.
There are seven main events: calf roping, steer wrestling, bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback bronc riding, and team roping.

Like I said before, I want to see the bareback bronc riding because the cowboys seem to enjoy that more--looking at the expressions on their faces. I have watched many rodeo events on television and the bare back actually seems more dangerous.

South Shore Commuter Rail Expasion

I received in the mail this week a flier about expanding the South Shore Commuter Rail. It said it will be a "Major Boost to Northwest Indiana's economy."
It also said that 26,000 could be added to the area but also the rail expansion could provide "a real shot in the arm for our pocketbooks," it read.
How?
The flier said expanded transit lines will be a magnet for new businesses and emerging industries, good-wage construction jobs on new lines and added staff for train and station operations could be added as well.
There are also claims that there will be more options for small businesses to grow around the transit stops and an increased access to 150,000 jobs in downtown Chicago.
The community should be involved in this decision.

Merit Capital Advance

If I ever get to start my own business I will probably need a Small Business Cash Advance at some point and time.
Merit Capital Advance looks at the bigger picture by offering a financing program that provides you with working capital now based on your anticipated future
credit card sales. There is no fixed payment schedule, and repayments are made only when you get paid by your customers.
The cash advance will be deposited into your business checking account allowing these funds to be accessible immediately. This is not a loan; it will not require a complicated application process, collateral, or unnecessary fees. You can choose to use your cash advance to fulfill any of your business needs.

Clay goes to South Carolina

The mayor of Gary, Rudolph Clay, has endorsed Democratic Presidential nominee, Sen. Barack Obama (D-IL) and is traveling to South Carolina to campaign on his behalf.
Clay is president of the Lake County Democratic Party (Committee?) and was previously a Lake County council member in Northwest Indiana.
While trying to verify if Clay is president of the Lake County Dems, I ran across this blog with some interesting albeit hateful musings. Ai-yai! yai!

The Credit Exchange

What if you had a company in your employ that analyzed your financial situation and found the right debt management service for you? The Credit Exchange Corporation is a debt consolidation referral service. Besides Credit Card Counseling, they provide debt referral services for customers seeking help with debt consolidation and debt management.

Compounded interest affects the total amount that consumers pay on unsecured debts. Credit counseling helps consumers understand and choose the best way to pay back that debt. Evaluating financial services is a long, arduous process and could be the reason you may put off finding the right company. The Credit Exchange helps with that process. They have selected several companies that share their ideals and professionalism.

Young Pats Fan Booed

This Just in from Yahoo News--Patriots owner Robert Kraft sat behind his wide desk and marveled at how his team's jersey could be the target of so many boos -- even when it's worn by a 14-year-old girl.
I have the feeling that this young girl is tough. She is a survivor!

Rapid Glass

Minneapolis auto glass replacement company, Rapid Glass, provides the highest quality auto glass replacements and windshield repair in Minneapolis and St. Paul, at affordable prices.
Anyone who has every had a crack in their windshield knows how important it is to get it fixed fast. One time my dad put a small piece of scotch tape over a crack in his windshield and it held until he got it fixed. (I guess it was tape)
At Rapid Glass, they use Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) parts and installers are certified to ensure your repair or replacement meets or exceeds the strictest auto glass industry standards. They even offer a National Lifetime Warranty.

Vote Democratic

No one has asked me my opinion or how I'm voting but I read a news story addressing Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama's (D-IL) fiscal stimulous package and it looks as if he has put some thought in how he will effect change. He's not just talking.
I'm casting my vote for Sen. Obama and I don't have to fall out of love with the Clintons to do so. I have a photo of president Bill Clinton posing in church with Coretta Scott King and her son Dexter King on my dining room table.
However, nowhere in history have I had a chance to vote for some one in my Generation who shares some of the same values and memories of America that mirror mine. I think the Obamas reflect my ideals and goals and I am standing behind them for what it is worth. I vote a straight ticket, then again.
Honestly, I don't think this country has progressed enought to accept a woman president and would probably spend a lot of time undermining Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) if she won the party nomination and the presidency.
Working women know what I'm talking about. Sometimes you have to fight and smile just to get work done and not make enemies. It's tiresome, the burden of women.

Contract Furniture Company

I've always thought of owning a bar and grill because it seems so Cheers and so fun. I'd be popular and lots of people would patronize me but I don't think it is as easy as that.
I spoke to an owner once and she told me it was a lot of work. Like, I would have a building and a grill but then I'd have to order restaurant tables and try to figure out which size would go best etc.
Where would I go to get restaurant grade furniture? I mean, it would have to be able to stand up to lots of use and washing.
Contract Furniture Company has a wide variety of the latest bistro style furniture to classic styles that never go out of style. I'd go there if I owned a restaurant.

What's On

I've been kind of brain dead for the past few days. Actually, I signed up for Blogtalkradio.com and am working out some of the technical difficulties like adding sound to my broadcast. Oh, everything is live and in one take basically. I had to find some royalty free music too. That is when I discovered that I may not get the music I like.
I was watching the news earlier and it said Arabs in Saudi Arabia would be helping out financially Citibank--I think. All I remember is some people on TV disagreeing with that move but like, what are we supposed to do? Good looking out President Bush.

Bad Credit Offers

It's better to compare bad credit loans instead of jumping at the first one because you are in need. It's better because you still have to pay it back and why pay back a loan at a higher rate than needed?
I like the idea of a site having instructions on credit repair because that is what most people will need after climbing out of debt. Repairing one's credit helps you in the long run because if you need another loan or a credit card you may qualify for a lower rate. The rule is supposed to be the better the credit, the lower the interest rate.

What should we make of American Politics?

This is the greatest country in the world. The diversity in this year's presidential campaign is unparellelled. But what does that mean?
Are we running out of traditional candidates or is the American Dream finally coming to fruition in these generations?
Whatever it is it is great and it's great to watch.
The newscasters are excited to report on something that isn't the same old same old for once and everything is harder to predict. That type of situation wakes you up a bit and gets you back to the point of why you chose to go into the business.
That's my guess anyhew.
